My Little Book
68Ok so I wrote this children's book because of a real experience with my niece. I just wanted to see your responses to it. Be Honest!!
My Daddy isn’t Saved
Little Layla loves the Lord. She is always happy when she is at church. She loves the praise songs. She loves her Sunday school teacher. She loves her church family.
Layla learned about the Rapture in Sunday school. She knows that Jesus is coming. She knows that she will go to heaven with Jesus. She knows her mother and her brother will go with her.
Today she is sad. Her mommy is saved. Her brother is saved. She is saved. Her daddy is not saved.
She starts to cry. She is afraid and worried. She knows that only saved Christians will go with Jesus. She does not know what to do.
She sits in her seat crying to God. “Help my daddy Lord. Can you save my daddy? I don’t want him to be left behind. I want my daddy to be with me like mommy and my brother. What do I do?”
Miss Faith is her Sunday school teacher. She sees Layla crying. She walks over to Layla and asks “What is wrong Layla. Why are you crying?” Layla looks up at Miss Faith with tears in her eyes and says, “I’m afraid Miss Faith. I think about rapture and then I think about my daddy. He is not saved like I am. What will happen to him?”
Miss Faith says to Layla, “Let’s pray Layla. When you do not know what to do, you should pray.” Miss Faith and Layla pray to God. Miss Faith asks God to bring Layla peace. Miss Faith prays that God will bring Layla’s daddy closer to Him. She prays that Layla will be the light for her daddy’s feet.
After they prayed, Layla asked Miss Faith, “What did that prayer mean?”
Miss Faith looked at Layla and smiled. She said to Layla, “Well Layla, when I prayed that God will bring you peace, I was asking him to take away your fear and worries. I asked God to use His Holy Spirit to bring your daddy closer to God so that he can be saved. I also prayed that when your daddy sees how happy the Lord makes you, it will show him the way to the Lord. You should be happy in the Lord all the time Layla. You should not have to worry about your daddy.”
Layla said to Miss Faith, “But I love my daddy very much and I want him to love the Lord like I do.”
Miss Faith thought for a moment. She said to Layla, “I know you do Layla, we all do. You need to remember something very important. God loves your daddy too. He loves him more than anyone can ever love Him. He wants to see your daddy saved just like you do. You just need to keep praying to God. You should also talk to your daddy about what God does for you. One day, your daddy will see all the wonderful things the Lord has done for you and he will want God to do that for him. Remember that God can do all things Layla. When you pray ask God to save your daddy. When you ask him believe it in your heart. Believe that God will save him and He will. Until then Layla, you stay happy in the Lord. Show others how happy God makes you. Stay faithful to Him and God will give you what you desire.”
Layla smiled. Layla felt happy again. She prayed for her daddy to be saved all the time. She had to believe that God would save him. If her daddy saw how happy she was then he would want to be happy too. God made her very happy. Miss Faith made her feel a lot better.
Layla said, “Thank you Miss Faith. I will believe that God will save my daddy. I will show my daddy that God can make him happy too.”
Miss Faith smiled. She told Layla, “I am very proud of you Layla and so is God.”
When church was over, Layla saw that her mommy looked sad. Layla looked at her mommy and asked, “Mommy what’s wrong? Why are you sad?”
Layla’s mommy looked at her and said, “I was just thinking about your daddy.” Layla knew exactly what to say to her mommy. Layla smiled.

Sorry I am just a poor typist, my old fingers don't co-operate with my poor little brain. Your story reminds me of one Reverend Maze Jackson once told about two agreeing in prayer and God would answer. A little boy had come forward after service and ask Brother Maze if he would agree with him that his daddy would get saved during the week of revival. Maze as always full enthusiasm and impressed with this little fellows request shook his hand and said,"Sure son, I will agree that God will save your daddy this week." Looking up he saw the young boys mother who had a bewildered look on her face. She told Maze her husband had abandoned his family weeks before and she didn't have a clue as to his whereabouts. Maze said he went back to his hotel room that night and prayed. He said he did this every night as the young man would look at him and remind him of their agreement. Well, Praise the Lord on Friday night at the altar call this young boy's daddy came forward and was gloriously saved. He had crept into the sanctuary unawares and later told he had felt such a conviction and drawing he just had to come to the service that night. The little boy had a brand new daddy now who worked out all his marital problems and the family was reunited, this time with Christ at the Head. Thanks for sharing your wonderful hub.
